Our son Dylan was born one month before hurricane Katrina, at 24 weeks old. Dylan weighed 1 lb. 12 oz and was only 12 inches long. Hurricane Katrina forced us to evacuate as far as Detroit with our 2 older sons and we were compelled to visit a total of 5 different hospitals to receive the appropriate care for our premature infant. Dylan survived, beating the odds and is now 2 years old, but has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. We have started Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy with hope of improving Dylan’s quality of life. This therapy is very costly and of course it is not covered by our Blue Cross health insurance policy. Dylan has had only 8 treatments to date, but has already shown improvement.
I am creating a web site in an attempt to raise funds to continue the Hyperbaric Oxygen therapy. At least two sets of 40 treatments are required to improve Dylan’s vision & motor function.
